Slottsskogen

About the Park
For over a hundred years, Slottsskogen has been a park where the people of Gothenburg have come for relaxation, socializing, exercise, and various events. There is something for everyone here – large lawns for picnics, recreation, and play, a zoo focusing on domestic and wild Nordic animals, playgrounds, historic buildings, cafés and eateries, various activities, wild nature, and walking trails.

Hilly Terrain
Slottsskogen has three elevations, many of which are accessible via winding walking paths. There are several viewpoints in the park, marked on the map. If you have difficulty navigating steep terrain, it may be a good idea to avoid these paths. However, there are plenty of nice walking trails in flatter areas, especially in the eastern and western parts of the park.

Slottsskogs-vallen

Slottsskogsvallen Sports Center is located in the southernmost part of Slottsskogen. Here, you can join group training sessions and work out at the gym. The area offers nice walking paths, several outdoor gyms, a mountain biking track, an athletics arena, and courses for disc golf and boules. Slottsskogsvallen’s entrance park is also available for spontaneous activities.
